End of summer

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

Wow! This summer has really flown by! I almost can’t believe it. People are going back to school already and Labor day is already next weekend. It really feels like it just got started.

I have been secretly ashamed at the lack posts on this site this summer. It looks like I am averaging about 1 post a month. Hopefully that will change as the fall draws near. With the addition of Dailyblur.com to my site list, the little time I have for posting is directed there.

This weekend we are off to Denver for a friends wedding. It will be nice, neither of us have been there before and I am really looking forward to getting some great shots of a new city.

Last weekend I was walking down Clark street and I happened to see a Lomo Fisheye toy camera on display and I ended up buying it. It is great because it was really affordable and takes an extreme wide angle view of the world.

Well that is about all for now. I hope everyone enjoys what summer we have left.

Announcing DailyBlur.com

Friday, May 18th, 2007

I wanted to let everyone know that I have decide to start a daily photoblog. I am very excited about making this idea a reality. Basically I realized that I have too many photos, and mainly too many stories to not have a photoblog. :-) Also one of the main reasons I have been motivated is that over the last few years I have been increasingly jealous of people have streams of photographs that you can trace back. They have a great history that is documented and can be enjoyed. There have been a few links in my photography section for a while now of Noah K Everyday and The Adaption to my Generation - A Daily Photo Project ++ c 7 11 23 and I am just so amazed at peoples dedication. True dedication is becoming harder and harder to come by. Therefore it is time for me to join in the fun!

North Ave Beach

Sunday, April 22nd, 2007

Well I am back in Chicago and finally over the flu that I picked up as I was leaving San Francisco. The weather here today was in the 80s!!! I thought 60s in San Francisco was beautiful compared to the 40s we were plagued with before I left., but today was  great.  Joellen and I went to North Ave beach for a nice walk. Anyone who is visiting Chicago should pay a visit to this place.

Cold again

Monday, April 9th, 2007

Seeing as it is now cold again, I decide to post some photos of a weekend Joellen and I spend in Wisconsin a month or two ago. It was very cold and it was just a few days after they got a ton of snow. It was a brief trip, but I still had time to mess around with a new toy.

New Scanner

Wednesday, March 7th, 2007

I recently realized how much I needed a scanner. I have a pretty large slide and negative collection that has never been digitized. Also over the summer my grandfather let me use the family slide collection to show everyone what a real slide show was like.  While looking through all the slides  I realized how important it is to have digital copies of these slides. I think it is a common realization.

Anyways, this let me to do a great deal of research to find the greatest bang for the buck. In the end I ordered the Epson 750 M-Pro scanner. I should be getting it soon and I will gladly let you know how the process goes.
